For those who don't believe the old adage, "When you least expect it, expect it," we are living proof.
Believe it or not, we met on a singles trip to Scandinavia and Russia in August 2017. Neither of us was expecting to come home with a significant other - we were just hoping for a great vacation and looking forward to meeting some new travel friends.
Looking back, it was really rather amazing that we met on this particular trip, given that both of us had strongly considered not going! Lucky for us, we both made the right decision!
As the group gathered in the hotel lobby for the first event of the pre-cruise, Jake spotted Debbie and came loping across the room to introduce himself. At the time, Debbie didn't realize just why Jake was in such a rush to get across the lobby, but, eventually, after several days of spending time together on land and at sea, she figured it out!
A few days into the trip, after we spent our entire first day at sea together and we were about to head back to our staterooms at the end of the evening, Jake "popped the question" that started it all. He asked, "May I kiss you?" To which Debbie replied, "Yes, you may!"
And, the rest, as they say, is history.
Here we are, getting ready for the biggest day of our relationship.
We can't wait to get married and start our new life together - in the same city! And we are so happy that each of you is a part of our wonderful love story!
